How to navigate this work

Please take your time.

This work is a web of interconnected themes and ideas, of different levels of depth.  It is not linear and is not intended to be read quickly.  Think of it as a spider's web.

We, humanity and most life on our planet, are in serious trouble.  This work is desperately hopeful, rather than delusional.  We need a new paradigm, a new way of thinking.

This is a highly subjective work of informed opinions and imaginative clusters of ideas, old and possibly new.  You as a sovereign individual[1] can consider, dismiss, adapt or adopt the opinions and ideas as you wish.  Little if any evidence is included to back the opinions and ideas.  You can easily find the evidence[2] yourself online as and when you want to.

This is not an academic work.  There are philosophical threads, but it is not an abstruse philosophical work. The intention is to be as accessible as possible to readers of varying world views.  Simple without becoming simplistic.  Many elements with as few words as possible.

This work is unashamedly emotive.  The premature end of our lives and countless other lives; the destruction of the biosphere; and the collapse of civilisation[3], are emotional topics.

Start with anything that catches your eye, and don't stop as soon as you are offended or strongly disagree.  The whole is greater than the sum of the parts, and your initial response may change once you are able to place each chapter in its wider context.  Be prepared to have your present beliefs and values challenged.  This work is more intricate, coherent and comprehensive than it may at first appear.

You can move around the work as you wish starting from any article or mindmap.  The top level of articles is shown in the Topics tab.  You can expand to lower levels of articles by clicking the + icon next to a chapter.

At the bottom of each page you can click on 'Site Map'.  That will take you to an indented table of contents of the articles, showing you the stucture of the work.  If you want to read the content sequentially, the site map is your guide.

If you prefer a graphical mind-map view of the ideas and their linkages click on the 'Mindmaps' tab.  From there clicking on the hyperlink icons will take you to other charts or to text articles.  From a text article you can return to the chart by clicking 'back' on your browser.  From any mindmap you can return to the home page by clicking the home hyperlink.

There is no intention to preach, offend or condescend.  The intention is to provoke the crystallisation of views and values, and to identify and rally kindred spirits.

Truth in Uncertainty is a secular work that recognises the importance of faith[4].  There is no religious sect or extremist group behind the work.  There are many references to religious and metaphysical themes, because globally there are many people who are believers, though that is easily forgotten in the indifferent Occident.  Even in the Occident the underlying and often implicit world views and value systems have their roots in religion.

There is no claim to revealed knowledge or to scholarly rigour and objectivity.  This is a highly subjective work written from a position of uncertainty and ignorance of truth.

The tone of the work is unequivocal not because of any claim to knowledge of truth, but because the objective is to get off the fence and to draw lines in the sands of uncertainty to allow us to move forward[5] as a human collective.

Please take your time.  In a relaxed frame of mind, read a chapter or several related chapters, and then leave it till next time.  There is no rush.

You can print articles if you prefer.

Within each chapter there are footnotes that will lead you to other related chapters when you click on them.  It is best to read and consider the whole chapter before following any of the links.
